University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship 2026 – Up to NZD $10,000 for International Students

The University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship 2026 is now open for applications, offering financial support to high-achieving international students who wish to study in New Zealand.

This prestigious award is designed to attract outstanding global talent to Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland, one of the top-ranked universities in the world.

 Scholarship Overview

The scholarship is available to new international students enrolling in:

• Undergraduate degree programmes
• Postgraduate diplomas (120 points or more)
• Taught master’s programmes

Up to 50 scholarships are awarded each year across different intakes.

 Scholarship Value

Successful applicants will receive:

•  Up to NZD $10,000
• Tuition fee credit applied toward the first year of study
• Recognition as an International Student Excellence Scholar
• The scholarship is tenable for one year and supports full-time study.

Application Deadlines (2026 Intakes)

There are two main application periods:

• April 2026 deadline (for Semester 2 intake)
• October 2026 deadline (for Semester 1 intake)

Applicants are encouraged to secure an offer of admission before applying for the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

• Be a new international student
• Hold a conditional or unconditional offer of admission
• Be enrolled full-time in an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate programme

Current University of Auckland students are generally not eligible for this award.
